Ground source heat pumps are a highly efficient way to heat your home. They are also a great way to reduce your carbon footprint. A ground source heat pump will typically have an efficiency of between 400-500%.

A ground source heat pump will typically outperform an air source heat pump, especially in the winter months. This is because the ground is a much more stable temperature than the air. This means that the heat pump will be able to extract more heat from the ground than the air.

At Armstrong Eco Systems we have a range of ground source heat pumps available. We are able to install a ground source heat pump in a variety of different ways:

  • Trenches; pipes are laid in long trenches roughly 1m deep. This is the most common way to install a ground source heat pump.
  • Boreholes; pipes are laid in a borehole. This is a more expensive way to install a ground source heat pump, but it is more efficient.
  • Body of water; a heat pump can also be installed in a body of water (river, pond etc).

We work with a number of local businesses to provide installation services (such as borehole drilling).
